CZ — synonymous with success
Changpeng Zhao is one of the richest people in the world according to Forbes. Authority in the world of cryptocurrencies. Founder of the largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance. What was his way to the top? And it definitely wasn’t easy.
Zhao was born in China in 1977 to an intellectual family, his parents were university teachers. Soon after his birth, the Chinese government declared his parents “pro-bourgeois” and banished them to the countryside. So they decided to move to Canada to improve their status. As a teenager, CZ was very close to his family and took a job at McDonald’s and a gas station to help. Many temporary jobs have been sought. And then he began to show interest in the stock exchange and IT.
After completing his IT studies in Montreal, he went on an internship at the Tokyo Stock Exchange. There, he created a trade order matching program for stock brokers. His next place of work was Bloomberg Tradebook — here he developed software for trading futures. In two years he became the manager of bands in Tokyo, London and New Jersey. But that did not satisfy his appetite for success.
Legend has it that Zhao learned about Bitcoin from a friend with whom he played poker. So he quit his job and got involved in a few cryptocurrency projects, including Blockchain.info, OKCoin. He also collaborated with Roger Ver and Ben Reevs. And in 2014, he sold his apartment just to invest in Bitcoin.
CZ was already so attached to cryptocurrencies that he wanted to start his own company operating in this industry. He had the ambition to set up his own stock exchange where there would be no access to traditional currencies. So in 2017, he founded Binance and in the first year of operation, he raised $ 15 million. The experience he has gathered over the years helped him greatly in this success. It is said that trading on its exchange is the fastest and most reliable.
Currently, Changpeng Zhao is an icon of the cryptocurrency market. His opinions are highly respected and statements shared on social networks can promote or destroy a cryptocurrency project. And when it comes to money, Zhao doesn’t get too attached to it. Last year he gave an interview saying that he intends to donate his funds to charity: “I’m going to donate most of my assets, as many other entrepreneurs or founders have done. From Rockefeller to today. I’m going to donate 90%, 95% or 99% of my assets. % of my wealth. “
